St. Kitts Carnival, also known as Sugar Mas, is the island's most vibrant and anticipated celebration, blending rich cultural traditions with contemporary festivities. It's unique as one of the only major Caribbean festivals held during Christmas and New Year.

The season begins in December with opening ceremonies and competitions, culminating in the Grand Parade on January 1-2, 2026. Major events include National Calypso and Soca Competitions, National Queen Pageant, Mr. GQ, Teen Pageants, and the Festival of Lights with folklore presentations.

Nevis to St. Kitts Cross Channel Swim

Join the Caribbean's premier open water swimming race! Take part in the annual 2.5 mile/4.1 km Cross Channel Swim, a challenge you'll never forget. Swim across the Narrows which separate Nevis Island from St. Kitts, the site of many shipwrecks over the years.

The swim crosses a strait that separates not only St. Kitts from Nevis but also the Caribbean Sea from the Atlantic Ocean, making this a unique ocean swim. Participants often enjoy the company of turtles and rays along the way and receive a special finishers medal and hand-carved turtle awards.
